Quick Review - Biobloom Jasmine Face Mist

I'm a sucker for face mists, especially when they are all organic and doesn't strip off natural oils off my skin. These days there are tremendous options out there for great face mist.
In one of my beauty Subscription boxes I received Biobloom Jasmine Face Mist. I have used few products from this brand earlier as well, especially its soaps are to die for. Products are free from Parabens, Formaldehde, Sulphates and petrochemicals. These products are natural ingredients based, not tested on animals and are environmental friendly as well.

Let's get into the quick review of the Jasmine Face Mist.

Price - Rs 250 for 50 ml.

Shelf Life - 18 months

Ingredients- Jasmine Water, Flower extract, Purified Water and Sodium Benzoate.

Packaging - Comes in a transparent palm size bottle with spray pump. Super convenient to travel with.

My Experience. - I have been using this Mist for over 2 weeks now and i absolutely love its mild floral fragrance. It refreshes my face so well, all fatigue and dullness goes down the drain. Mist is not only therapeutic experience because of it aroma but it also helps in soothing and refreshing the skin without drying it out. I use it at least 2-4 times as day, Whenever I feel dull and saturated, this tiny mist helps in uplifting my mood and spirit.

It is bit on the expensive side but I feel it does its job really well.

I totally recommend it, especially for travel purposes.

Himalaya #FairnessKesarFace Pack Review and Experience

This time summer decided to be ruthless and harsher than ever before in Delhi and I’m totally in the mood to crib about it for as long as I can but leaving the heat aside, I tend to get tanned at least two shades darker, which honestly isn’t great on the Indian skin. And this year especially because I joined swimming as a summer sport to opt for a healthy lifestyle, chlorine is making my skin go haywire. Being a lazy person by nature, I don’t end up giving too much time to my skin care either. But this time I decided to be little careful and choose for cleanups on bi-monthly basis. Though, asking me to go and visit a Salon; Not happening! Full fledged clean-ups/mini-facials and pampering my skin with facepacks has shown a huge difference in my skin.

I have been using Himalaya Kesar Fairness pack for a while now. I picked it because I have always loved Himalaya products and its Neem pack had been my favorite for a long time, even though I didn’t have problematic skin, it still helped me detoxify it. So this time I wanted to give try to something different and wanted to get rid of this stubborn tan too.
Let’s have a look at what the product claims and why this worked out for me.

Himalaya Claims It is a unique natural formulation that evens out skin tone for a fairer you! Turmeric, walnut, Indian Aloe and saffron rejuvenate and cleanse your skin of impurities, to reveal a natural glow. Walnut and Aloe Heals skin and removes blackheads. Turmeric and Saffron enhances your skin’s complexion and elasticity. Cinnablock, our patented herbal sunblock, protects your skin from the Sun’s harmful UV rays.

I have been using this little guy for over a period of month. Initially I got two satchels from a local grocery just for the trial purposes, then decided to go for a medium size one. It has worked really well on my uneven skin tone.  What really interest me about this its key ingredients – It constitutes of Kesar, turmeric, Indian Aloe, walnut and Kaolin clay. I have loved using Kaolin clay packs as it doesn’t really dries out my skin and at the same time helps in brightening it.

Himalaya Herbals Kesar Fairness Pack has great anti-oxidants, anti-bacterial properties. Along with such awesomeness, it helped me remove my tanned and even out my pigmented skin.

Packaging and Texture

Pack comes in a squeeze tube with Flip open packaging. It is travel friendly and light weight also. The texture of the product is thick consistency. In my homemade packs I mix rose water or little milk to make it into smooth consistency but with this one I prefer to use it directly from the tube. It has very mild and floral kinda fragrances which is not overpowering.

I have been using it consistently and it has done great job on it too. I can see visible brightness and glow on my face. My skin feels softer than ever before. I use it once a week as I have dry skin. Apply it evenly on face and neck and leave it for 20 mins. It makes my skin look one toned brighter immediately. It doesn’t really dries out my skin but I use a thick moisturizer after pack application.

Price – Rs 70 for 50g
Shelf Life- 3 years.

It is an affordable and recommended treat for your skin. It lightens the blemishes and dark spots, makes skin smooth and supple and helps in getting rid of tanning. It contains herbal and natural ingredients mostly which is a big plus.

It makes my skin feel happy. It is a quick way to pamper your skin and you can easily carry it with you anywhere.
For a working woman or a person who is just outright lazy like me, it is a great option. I highly recommend it.

Organic Harvest Fresh Mint shower Gel – Review and Price

Summer time and I can be in shower all day long, believe me – I’m not kidding. I give most time to my bathing routine and tell me who doesn’t like to feel fresh all day in this sweaty scorching heat.

I have tons of shower gels and I can’t get enough of them. Today again I’m reviewing one of the shower gel which I got fond of in past 2 weeks. – Organc Harvest Fresh Mint Shower gel.

Let’s hop on to review and find out what is so unique about the same.

Price – Rs 595 for 200 ml
Shelf Life – 2 years

Ingredients
Ecocert certified Decyl glucoside, peppermint oil, liquid shea butter and potassium sorbate in surfactant base.

Packaging – Comes in transparent sleek sturdy plastic packaging. It has Tic-tac cap which is quite tight as well. It dispenses just the right amount of product. But the packaging is bit bulky so won’t consider travelling with it.

Texture – Gel like consistency, neither too thick nor too runny – just right. I like the smooth and refreshing fragrance.

My Experience with Organic Harvest Fresh Mint Shower Gel

I take my sweet time taking a shower as I told you earlier. Whether soaps or shower gels, I’m addicted to my bathing products. After using this product, I’m absolutely in love with it.

Even though it is pricey but a little goes a long way, so I don’t even have complaints there. You just need a coin size amount of product on your loofah and you are sorted.

The fragrance doesn’t linger for long but the feeling of freshness stays for good 2-3 hours.  It is free from parabens, petrolatum, paraffin and other animal ingredients which is a huge plus point and it will suit all skin types as well.

This shower gel also helps in relieving stress because of presence mint, it leaves little cooling sensation behind as well.

Organic Harvest is a trusted brand and I have loved all its products in the past aswell. I’m glad I liked this one too.

Ratings-                Performance & Efficacy – 4.5/5
                                 Packaging  & Availability – 4/5
                                                                    Texture – 4/5

Recommendation – For summers I would definitely give this one a big thumbs up. Suitable for all skin types and doesn’t dries out skin too. I definitely recommend this. And by the way this is a unisex shower gel, men in your life will enjoy it too.

VLCC Singhda Whitening Day Cream With SPF25 - Review

VLCC Day Cream is another product from the house of VLCC that I am using on a regular basis for the past one month. Read more to know how I feel about it, and my experience.

Product Claims -

A unique day care cream with SPF 25 developed for dull, dark and lifeless skin, caused due to melanin accumulation and exposure to the sun and its UV Radiation. Ideal for application during the day, which helps in retaining the texture of your skin, and preventing the re-occurrence of dark spots, marks, and pigmentation.

Price - Rs. 399 /-
Quantity - 50g

My Experience with VLCC Day Cream -

I have a dusky complexion, and I like it that way. I do not believe that you need to be fair to look beautiful. This would be the main reason why I do not believe in, nor do I encourage the use of whitening and/or fairness products. (If you have a preference to fair skin, that is totally cool. But to say that one is better than the other is not the right way to go!)

I understand why brands use whitening and fairness for their marketing; because we as a nation are obsessed with fair skin! But I am so glad that some of us are finally saying no to whitening branding, point blank.

Anyway, moving on to the review, I neither like this cream now do I hate it. It did not do anything for my skin except for acting as a sunscreen. It does not moisturize well, but during summers, it helps in controlling sunburn on my face.

My biggest issue with this cream is that it leaves a white cast on my skin. It does not get absorbed in the skin as much as I would like it to.

Rating - 3/5

Will I repurchase? - No, I would try a different products from VLCC instead, but not this one.

Recommendation - It is an affordable day cream which comes with a generous amount of product. If you have young, non-problematic and normal skin type, it can work for you. Just do not expect any miraculous results!

VLCC Lovable Lips Lip blams Review

I'm a lip balm hoarder (Read : Make-up hoarder). I have tons and tons of it and I still feel I can never have enough. When I find a lip balm which is not just attractive looking, but is also affordable, I can't help immediately trying to grab it!

Today in the review : VLCC Lovable Lips

Price : Rs.125 /-
Quantity : 4.5g
Shelf Life - 3 Years

Packaging - Comes in a chapstick like packaging. The outer packing is of a similar color as that suggested by variant.

My experience with VLCC Lovable Lips :

These lip balms are part of my bag which I take with me for swimming. Before entering the pool and after taking the clean-up shower, hydrating and moisturizing my lips becomes a priority.

Something that I have noticed about these lip balms is that they are super hard to glide onto my lips, and they do not provide long lasting moisturization either.

I have to use it frequently and even after doing so, I have not seen any effect in solidification of these - They are still very hard to glide.

These are not super tinted or amazingly hydrating. These are definitely not meant for deep winters and dry weathers. Though for summers, they can be an ideal choice, as these are not heavy on the lips and also provides an SPF of 15.

Rating - 2.5 / 5

Overall Thoughts :  the formulation of these lip balms are not hydrating enough, and end up settling into fine lines, so I won't recommend this for winters. But for summers, they become an affordable option with the added bonus of giving you that SPF 15 protection. So if you are reading this in summer, go for it!

VLCC Matte Look Sunscreen Lotion. SPF 30 - Review

Summers, Scorching heat and tanning - Sounds like a familiar story right in summers. My make-up goes minimal and I become extra careful about my sunscreen routine. And now that I am swimming regularly, it is an absolute must! The wonderful people at VLCC sent over a skin care range, which is a must for summers.

So today, I planned to review the sunscreen that I do not leave home without, and which also happens to be a permanent member in my handbag now - The VLCC Matte Look Sunscreen Lotion. SPF 30 PA+++

This lotion comes in various sizes, and price tags - It is ideal for all skin types, and have an oil-free broad spectrum formulation with UVA and UVB defense.

Packaging - Comes in a squeeze tube with a flip opening. Travel friendly.

Ingredients - Almond oil (1%), Jojoba oil (1%), White sandalwood extract (0.3%), Turmeric extract (1%), Germinated wheat oil (1%), Pineapple extract (1%), Zinc oxide (4%), Aloe Vera extract (2%), Carrot seed oil (0.40%), Cucumber extract (2%), Lotion base Q.S.

Price – Rs 115 for 30 gm and Rs 315 for 100gms
Shelf Life- 2 Years
Available At – Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal and offline stores easily

My experience with VLCC Matte look Sunscreen Lotion

I've been using this lotion for quite some time now. This is probably my fourth or fifth tube! Over the years, the price has increased, but not steeply. It is still super affordable. I apply it every day on my face and neck, atleast fifteen minutes before stepping out. It claims total protection from the harmful VVA and VVB rays, and I feel it works, because my skin does not burn when exposed to the sun, and even the tan is hardly noticeable, even after extended periods.

It leaves the skin feeling fresh, clean, and supple. My only complaint wit the product is the matte look doesn't sustain for long, but at the same time, it doesn't make my skin look greasy, oily, or sweaty. So a big thumbs up for that!

I feel regular usage of this cream has also helped my skin retain its supple and even texture.

Will I buy it again? Yes of course! It is a must have during summers for my skincare routine. My mom is also a huge fan of this product!

Overall, this is an amazing product which is affordable and does what it claims. For this price and superb quality, I would suggest that you go for it!

Rating – 4.5/5 ( Highly Recommended!!)

Acmed Facewash by Ethicare Remedies- Review, Price and Buy in India!

Hi beauties,

I can't stick to one face wash for too long. You will find at least 3-4 different types of face wash in my bathroom cabinet. But recently I realized that I have stuck to Acmed Gentle Pimple care face wash for almost 3 months now. This is my second tube! And even though this particular face wash from Ethicare Remedies is meant for acne prone and normal to oily skin, I have really enjoyed my experience with it. Without rambling on further, let's jump straight into the review!

Price - Rs 165

Quantity - 70 gms
Shelf life - 3 years

Key ingredients- Tea Tree Oil, Pro-vit B-5, Vit E, Aloevera

Packaging- Face comes in transparent squeeze tube. It has sturdy plastic flip cap. Cap is tight and the facewash is travel friendly.

Texture- Colorless gel with blue and purple colored micro beads. The fragrance of the face wash is very mild and soothing, though it doesn't linger for long.

My Experience with the Acmed Gentle Pimple care facewash

I'm really fond of this face wash even though I have some serious dry skin, especially in winters, but I have used this face wash all year round, so I have a fair idea that it works well for me in every season. This is especially true in summers, when my T-zone becomes oily and prone to acne.

It is a soap free formula, and very little is required to cleanse the face efficiently. It lathers really well and my skin feels squeaky clean after using it. It instantaneously gives me a nice and refreshing glow. My skin doesn't even feel patchy or dried out after using it. On the contrary, it makes my face feel well hydrated.. Which is a big yay for me!

Acmed face wash is enriched with tea tree oil and aleovera making it perfect to use for problematic or sensitive skin. In my opinion, this face wash works well for all skin types. It may not work extensively for old acne marks or pimples, but it certainly helps in preventing breakouts.

Pros

  • Budget friendly and easily available
  • Works well for Problematic skin
  • Soothing and calming aroma
  • Mild and effective on your skin
  • Only a pea sized quantity is needed to clean up your face
  • Enriched with tea tree oil and aloevera
  • Does not dry out your skin

Cons

  • May not work for old Pimple marks

Chi Asian Cookhouse - Food & Restaurant Review

Chi Asian Cookhouse, invited me to taste their special menu for review.

India is well known for its spices, and when we talk about Indian street food, Indo-chinese is something which never fails to grab my attention.
Well, but today I'm not talking chinese food, I'm talking about a restaurant that brings an authentic taste to the Asian platter - Chi Asian Cookhouse!
Located opposite to the famous street shopping market of Janpath, it is found on the first floor. The positivity starts building up right at the entrance, the ambience giving you a breath of fresh air.
Ambience:

The restaurant is very lively, with a summery-bright look to it. There is a large bar area and still there is plenty of space for dining.
It has a subtle classy look to it, and the interiors have been artfully colors with bright splashes of color. Something that really caught my attention there was the decoration on the wall, using crockery. Quite a unique way to use your own wares for decor!
The place itself is quiet and peaceful, making it perfect for a family dining experience.
Food:
Coming to the most exciting thing.. food! I was greeted with a hard core Pan Asian menu, my attention was mainly going to their wide choice of seafood. We were also pleasantly surprised by a customized menu, offering us an epic list of specials, as well as new and upcoming items!

If you are anything like me, and have a thing for Mughalai cuisine (especialli Biriyanis!), this place will rock your socks off. The staff are also very helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes they are serving you, going so far as to name off individual ingredients and spices!
We started our meal with Soups. The Chiang hai glass noodle soup came in a large bowl, filled to the brim with vegetables, boiled chicken, and the famous glass noodles. I greatly enjoyed the texture of the noodles in contrast to the richness of the clear soup. A must try for Soup and Noodle aficionados.
The Dim-Sums came next, firstly the Prawn Cheung Fun, followed by the soupy pork dumplings. I expected the soup to mess with the texture of the filling, but it was prepared in such a way so as to keep its structure. Very nicely done! The Prawn Cheung Fun is essentially a prawn, rolled inside steamed rice and served with soy sauce. Loved this one too!
We were pretty confused when we saw a bunch of crumpled up banana leaves on the plate when we realized they were dumplings made with sticky rice, wrapped and cooked in the leaf to give it a very subtle pinch of flavor. Needless to say we enjoyed it immensely.

As we tried to convince ourselves we weren't full, a plate of Jasmine Rice came by. The aroma hit us well before the plate came into our sights. Combined with Kimchi spiced vegetables and cheating chilli prawns (The name really fascinated me :P). I was not really a fan of the vegetables, but the chilli prawns more than made up for it!
The Drinks
I think that one of the biggest highlights of that hot day, was the out-of-this-world mocktails.

We first ordered a Beijing Martini, and a Watermelon Cooler. The Beijing martini is perfect for pepper lovers like I, with cranberry juice providing a perfect base for mixing the pepper and balsamic vinegar.
We didn't quite enjoy the watermelon cooler, so we decided to try another round. This time we also called for the Tokyo Cobbler - A lychee based drink, served in a tall glass with rose essence.

This drink was the hero of the day. One of us found it very close to too sweet (while the other has no taste buds and is wrong :P), but it was super refreshing, and looked SO BEAUTIFUL.
Finally the dessert arrived. Coconut pancakes served with vannila ice-cream and various sprinkles.
I was so full that I decided to pass on this, but my partner decided to try a small bit. He ended up eating nearly the entire thing, raving on an on about it to every staff member who would listen.
This place surely is among my go to places around Central Delhi, for a nice family meal.
