VLCC Lovable Lips Lip blams Review

I'm a lip balm hoarder (Read : Make-up hoarder). I have tons and tons of it and I still feel I can never have enough. When I find a lip balm which is not just attractive looking, but is also affordable, I can't help immediately trying to grab it!

Today in the review : VLCC Lovable Lips

Price : Rs.125 /-
Quantity : 4.5g
Shelf Life - 3 Years

Packaging - Comes in a chapstick like packaging. The outer packing is of a similar color as that suggested by variant.

My experience with VLCC Lovable Lips :

These lip balms are part of my bag which I take with me for swimming. Before entering the pool and after taking the clean-up shower, hydrating and moisturizing my lips becomes a priority.

Something that I have noticed about these lip balms is that they are super hard to glide onto my lips, and they do not provide long lasting moisturization either.

I have to use it frequently and even after doing so, I have not seen any effect in solidification of these - They are still very hard to glide.

These are not super tinted or amazingly hydrating. These are definitely not meant for deep winters and dry weathers. Though for summers, they can be an ideal choice, as these are not heavy on the lips and also provides an SPF of 15.

Rating - 2.5 / 5

Overall Thoughts :  the formulation of these lip balms are not hydrating enough, and end up settling into fine lines, so I won't recommend this for winters. But for summers, they become an affordable option with the added bonus of giving you that SPF 15 protection. So if you are reading this in summer, go for it!

New In Drugstore- Organic Harvest Lip Balm! Review

Winters to me means hot soup and momos, lots of hot chocolate and popcorn, snugly bed and loads of lip balms to keep my chapped lips at bay.
Few days ago, I reviewed Maybelline BabyLips Candy Wow - a new variant in lip balms. Today I have another new contestant by Organic Harvest.

TATTVA: TANGY GRAPE FRUIT LIP SCRUB; Review & Price

Hey Guys!

Our lips require intensive care all year round as the skin on the lips is much thinner than our other body parts. My lips are prone to getting chapped and hence, I keep my lip balm/ lip butter handy, always!

During the dry weather; winters/ autumn it becomes necessary to regularly exfoliate lips to get rid of dead chapped skin. In my case, I prefer to do that throughout the year.

Review : Chapstick Active Lip Shield 365

Hello !!

Everybody loves beautiful soft pink lips, I’m no different. So, when I received this chapstick in my May fab bag I got very excited but due to so many lip balms and butters in stash I didn’t open the packaging for a while. Chapstick is trusted and popular brand of lip care from USA. So, receiving this product as a bonus in that fabbag was a win win for me.

Price – Rs209 for 4g

Packaging

The lipbalm comes in a retractable stick with click clock cap.. It’s a common packing of most of the lip balms available in market right now. Packaging is travel friendly.

Product Claim

Helps prevent sunburn. Higher SPF gives more sun burn protection. Helps prevent and temporarily protects chafed, chapped or cracked lips.

Usage

Apply liberally before sun exposure and as needed. Reapply at least every 2 hours. Use a water resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating.

Texture

It’s creamy but not too creamy; it glides easily on the lips. It smells like lemonade, unique delightful citrusy scent it has. The downside is, it leaves a white sheen on my lips after application.

My Experience

Even though the product smells fantastic and has a little creamy texture, yet it didn’t stick to its claim. It didn’t give my lips the right amount of moisturization, leaving them chapped. Instead of moisturizing my lips, it leaves my lips more dry chapped. The major downside of this product is that it is not at all comfortable on lips; it feels as if you’re carrying some extra weight on the lips. As I mentioned before, it leaves a white flaky layer on the lips. The good about this lip balm is it gives year long protection i.e. it is suitable for all the seasons and specially in summers as it comes with broad spectrum SPF 50 that provides full protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays.

Recommendation

This lip balm certainly did not live up to its claims. I’m quite disappointed in the product. I might like other variants of Chapstick but not this one for sure. Only for the sunscreen purpose you can use it but then make sure you top it us with another lip moisturizer for keeping the dryness at bay.

Rating – 2 out of 5 !!

Have you tried any other variant of Chapstick? What are views about this lip balm? Let me know in the comments below!

My View and Review- Lakme Aqua Lip Color In Fig

Hey Pretty Girls,

Today is a kind of day when I just want to snuggle in my blanket, have a cup of tea and read a nice novel. I’m just feeling too cozy and dreamy today, smililar to the Smiran of DDLJ, haila !!!

Today I’m gonna review Lakme Aqua Lip Color – Shade Fig

Well I’m not a make up person as such, but whats harm in adding little colour to our rosy lips and feel pampered at the same time and make- up is my new love .. that reminds me there is an amazing blog by Bhumika of the same name Newlove-makeup.

So coming back to the Review

First of all I’m providing here a snapshot of shades and how to use this lip colour.

The Swatch

My fig shade (oh yeah I’m personalizing it too much) is a lovely one, and I have fallen in love with lip colours only because of it. Its amazing and has a great staying power.  Its great for natural make-up.

Likes:-

-          This is an perfect colour for my lips and can be applied daily

-          Very nice shine and gloss. Staying power of gloss is 45mins to 1 hour.

-          Pretty long staying say 4-5 hours, if your are not going to eat anything in first 2 hours.

-          Packaging is cool – twisted bottle shaped pen.

-          Quite warm fragrance chocolatey types

-          It has a sponge applicator which glides easily

-          It doesn’t dry my lips

-          Easily Available

Dislikes

on my Lips

-          Gloss staying power is short

-          Quantity is really less for the price.

-          Comes in a opaque pen like vessel. So you don’t get to know when its over
out from pen

-          Though I loved the sponge applicator but while twisting the lip colour pen sometimes the colour gets wasted a lot.

Rating – 3.5/5 (.5 for the shade)

Recommendation – I might buy its shade in Red for party wear but its expensive considering its staying power.

Have you used its other shades … comment here and tell me about it.
