Mascaras are my new obsession. My current hauls are filled with mascaras. So be ready to get a look on a lot of mascaras that I will be reviewing here. I have heard raving reviews about benefit mascaras, so I wanted to get  my hands on few of them. Sadly, they all cost a bomb, making a huge hole in my pocket. This  my friend is not a compromise I make easily. I’m a frugal girl. I just can’t spend on mascara a lot because I’ll have to toss it out in maximum in 5 to 6 months. I don't write much about makeup, though believe me I'm a makeup hoarder and I recently did a drugstore haul from US. My friend was visiting India so I asked her to pick few things for me. I'm majorly a kohl girl, I can’t just leave house without kajal/ kohl. But there are phases in my life when mascara takes over even Kohl. Hello Beauties!!

My Lazy self has finally decided to blog today as my fabulous subscription to FAB BAG is coming to an end this month.
Let's know whether I'll continue with the subscription from next onwards or not, towards the end of this post. For now, lets just concentrate on the July Fab Bag

I received this bag on 21st of July. And it was a Happy-sad feeling while receiving it. Happy because yay it is something for which I wait for patiently, every month. Sad, because as stated above, subscription has to an end.

The theme bag of this month was this beauty in Royal Purple. It is  decent sized bag with a unisex look, can be used a vanity bag by your Man also. I'm completely in love with first look of the bag.

I've heard a lot about the Brand Iraya, never used it though. I will take my considering it is an organic and Ayurvedic based brand. I will write a detailed review about this product by next month ( Stay tuned ;) ) 

Flomar Quartet Eye Shadow - Full size - Rs 750/- 

                                     
The shade which I received in my bag is No. 402 which is in pink and browns. I'm liking the shades of this mini pallet as they are very neutral and can be used it routine, without much of drama. If you are anything like, who believes in less is more than these shades are just perfect for you. The combination of browns and pinks can be worn for the perfect Date- Night or Date-day. 

About the brand Flomar-  It is a part of French Cosmetic group, Yves Rochar. It is available in over 70 countries and is also the market leader in Turkey

According to the info card- The eyeshadow has non dusty formula and will last for the whole day. But I''m not keeping my Hopes much high from this product yet I feel the shades will stay for good 4-5 hours ( decent enough?) 

Votre Day Moisturizing Gel with SPF 35 - Full size - Rs 810 for 40 gm

Okay. This is again a full size product and again, I've heard a lot about this particular product from the people around me. They all seem very happy with the results of this one and considering the reputation of the Brand, I wish to feel the same, let's see. 

According to the Info card - It is a best sunscreeen day product for monsoons as it is in Gel form. So. it will keep the skin hydrated and not oily. It is infused with liquorice and bearberry extracts which helps in diminishing the dark spots and makes skin radiant. 

I'm really looking forward to using this one and will surely put a detailed review of the same soon.

All in all I'm highly impressed with my July Fab-bag. My next post will on my 3 months experience with the Fab-Bag.

A simple DIY- make your own Makeup Remover!!!

Today I’m here to tell you one really simple and effective recipe for the makeup remover – specialy the long stay and waterproof makeup remover, for which you don’t even have to spend a fortune.(Am I exaggerating it!! ). Nevermind, instead of buying a very expensive makeup remover you can make it super easily at home.

Things you Need

Olive Oil/ Sweet almond oil- 1 tbsp
Water- 1 cup
Baby Shampoo/ no tear shampoo
Storage Container – I’m using Glycerine bottle and roghan badam shirin Bottle

Procedure

 Mix all the ingredients very well. You will see froth coming up. Try to pour the mixuter in the container without froth. Use the froth to clean your feet ;). It is totally safe on the face but after removing make up wash your face with your favourite face wash.

I have tried to show you that how well it works – I have used all my waterproof and long stay makeup to show you how well it work. It now greasy, it doesn’t leave any residue and it does it work perfectly.

Final Product

Not at all expensive- Easy to make- effective rather better than my expensive makeup removers.

Reduce your Make-up : save environment & pocket money

Wassuup! Lately I have become all the more environment friendly and have even realized that doing so has also helped me in saving a lot of money. So lets check out how we can stay beautiful and save environment and do some savings for selves. Very few changes in your day-to-day routine can contribute a a lot to environment.

Buy in Bulk: Buy big size packages of items that you use regularly. A bigger container uses less packaging than two smaller containers. Also you will definitely end up saving a pretty penny as per unit cost of products in bigger containers is lesser. However, make sure you are definitely going to use up the entire product or else the whole saving thingy will be a flopshow.

Support green products: Play a valuable role in the green initiative by opting to buy eco-friendly beauty products. Look out for The Green Seal which indicates that the product has been manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner and The Mobius Loop which indicates that the product can be recycled.

Clean and Reuse: The same waste-reducing green living principles can apply to other makeup products as well. Most makeup applicator wedges, for instance, can be cleaned and reused a few times. Or perhaps you could just use your finger to apply the makeup and avoid the applicator altogether. For green living with nail polish, try using a rag made from old clothes to remove the polish and then wash the rag and reuse it.

Avoid Disposable Items: From shaving our legs (or faces for guys) to washing our faces or removing makeup, beauty requires a lot of work and, unfortunately, produces some frequent waste products. To support green living, why not do away with as many of the disposable items as possible? Our beauty routine would be much more in line with green living if we chose non-disposable razors, face cloths, and loofahs. To be more eco-friendly, try to avoid makeup removal pads. Instead use cleanser or makeup remover and a soft cloth. The same goes for daily facial cleansing cloths. Be a green living supporter and use a washable wash cloth instead!

Try out products before buying them: We often buy many makeup items on a whim or just to follow the latest trends. However, sometimes these products don't suit our complexion or overall personality. The result: a drawer crammed with unused makeup items ready for the trash can- a monumental waste.  Whip up beauty treatments at home: The best way to support the green beauty initiative is to make your own special beauty and spa treatments at home. Just make sure that you don't wind up with skin reactions and irritations. Do a little test patch behind your ears (give it 24-48 hrs) and opt for tried and tested recipes. Reduce the numbers: Work at reducing the overall number of products you use. Buy products with multiple uses such as moisturizer with SPF or a bronzer that doubles up as an eye shadow or a colour tinted moisturizer etc. This will make a dramatic reduction in your regular beauty waste by simply minimising the number of items that you need to dispose off.

Use aluminum free deodorant: Aluminum is widely used in deodorants as it blocks pores and prevents sweating which could potentially lead to health problems as it stops toxins from escaping the body. Use a natural alternative such as a crystal stick with mineral salts or even essential oils at the pulse points to smell beautiful and rid our earth of the hazardous metal deodorant cans.
