Quick Review - Biobloom Jasmine Face Mist

I'm a sucker for face mists, especially when they are all organic and doesn't strip off natural oils off my skin. These days there are tremendous options out there for great face mist.
In one of my beauty Subscription boxes I received Biobloom Jasmine Face Mist. I have used few products from this brand earlier as well, especially its soaps are to die for. Products are free from Parabens, Formaldehde, Sulphates and petrochemicals. These products are natural ingredients based, not tested on animals and are environmental friendly as well.

Let's get into the quick review of the Jasmine Face Mist.

Price - Rs 250 for 50 ml.

Shelf Life - 18 months

Ingredients- Jasmine Water, Flower extract, Purified Water and Sodium Benzoate.

Packaging - Comes in a transparent palm size bottle with spray pump. Super convenient to travel with.

My Experience. - I have been using this Mist for over 2 weeks now and i absolutely love its mild floral fragrance. It refreshes my face so well, all fatigue and dullness goes down the drain. Mist is not only therapeutic experience because of it aroma but it also helps in soothing and refreshing the skin without drying it out. I use it at least 2-4 times as day, Whenever I feel dull and saturated, this tiny mist helps in uplifting my mood and spirit.

It is bit on the expensive side but I feel it does its job really well.

I totally recommend it, especially for travel purposes.

Innisfree Wine Peeling Jelly Softener Review and Price + Diwali Offers From Innisfree

Now that the festive season is almost here, I've started taking care of my skin a bit more seriously than usual. I'm a huge fan of Korean products, and have recently shopped a lot from Innisfree (Perks of being in Delhi!). I don't post haul because I'm lazy, but I've got many skin care products as well as a few make up items. And there is this mild exfoliator which I've been using for almost 3 weeks now, and I must say, I am REALLY liking it!

About the ProductEnriched with wine extracts from France, Wine creates a clear and smooth jelly-like skin by gently lifting away dead skin cells and providing hydrating moisture.

Price - 900
Quantity - 180ml
Shelf Life - 3 Years

Packaging: It comes in a slim tall opaque plastic bottle with a screw cap. The product is travel friendly as there is a stopper as well.

Texture: Product has a very light jelly like texture which feels very smooth on your skin. It has a sweet wine fragrance which does not linger for long.

My Experience: I have dry skin and as winter is getting closer, the skin demands special care and hydration. In such a case, I avoid using abrasive exfoliators as they tend to dry out your skin even further.

I feel Innisfree wine peeling jelly softener is best for this season, and can be used in regular weather as well. The red wine extracts help soften the skin, and removing dead cells.

It is very effective and gentle. I use it 2-3 times a week. After cleaning it with lukewarm water and patting skin dry with towel, dead skin starts to peel off and skin feels soft and smooth for the people who have oily to combination skin, it also helps in getting rid of excess oil.

It is quite moisturizing, and the face feels smooth and clean afterwards. With regular usage, it helps in clearing blackheads.

Skin has started to glow and look brighter, I'm really liking this product and it will go on for a long time.

Except for the cost, I find no other negatives about this product!

Rating:   Packaging and Texture - 4.5/5
              Efficacy and Performance - 4/5
                                        Availability - 3/5
                             Value for Money - 3.5/5

Overall Rating - 3.5/5

Recommendation - I really recommend this product, especially for this festive season and dryer months. It helps in brightening the skin and getting rid of excess oil. One bottle will last you for good 4-5 months.

The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner - Review and Price

In the extreme climatic conditions such as in Delhi my skin becomes acne prone and oily. I started using this toner on the recommendation of a friend and fell in love with it from the first use. I have been using it for almost two months and my love for it has grown because of the wonderful results.

Keep reading to know why I love this product.

The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner

About the Product - This Clarifying Toner is made from natural ingredients such as seaweed, algae and cucumber and is alcohol free, refreshing & purifying which makes it best suited for Combination to oily skin.

How to Use- Apply to face and neck after cleansing and before moisturizing, using cotton pad.

Packaging

It comes in a sturdy plastic see-through bottle with a flip cap. The flip cap has a sturdy click lock and does not spill and is easy to carry while travelling.

Texture - Water like very light texture. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin and the fragrance is quite refreshing too

Price- Rs. 895/-
Quantity- 200ml
Shelf Life- 3 years from mfg date. Use within 12 months after opening

Personal Experience:

After cleansing my face I like to dab a few drops of the seaweed toner on the cotton and just apply it all over my face. A few drops will be more than enough to do the work. When I look at the cotton after applying it, I can see the dirt and makeup on the cotton. It removes all excess traces of makeup and cleanser with ease. It leaves my skin feeling purified, refreshed, conditioned, shine-free and glowing.

It has menthol which cools, soothes and refreshes the skin. For me it takes away all the heat and stress after a stressful day of Delhi Summers. The toner refines the pores and hence reduces the breakout or acne. I have personally noticed a reduced breakout of acne and much lesser blackheads on my T-zone. I like to use it after removing facial hair as it soothes my skin and protects it from all sorts of puffiness, redness and allergic reactions which I used to get earlier.

There is nothing about this product which I do not like expect for the price bar; the cost of the product is quite steep which is not an issue as it performs it jobs well but for some it might be expensive. However, The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner is perfect for oily and acne prone skin.

The Good:

·         Alcohol Free – hence, doesn’t make skin dry.
·         Contains Seaweed, Cucumber and Algae.
·         Purifies Skin - Removes excess make-up, oil, dirt & cleanser.
·         Refines the pores and helps in reducing acne breakouts.
·         Doesn’t breakout my skin.
·         Good fragrance.
·         Packed in a bottle which is easy to use, light and sturdy.
·         Perfect for combination to oily skin in summers.
·         Contains no added colour.

The Not-so-Good:

·         Contains Parabens.
·         200 ml for Rs. 895/- might be heavy on some of us pockets.

Rating: 4.5/5

Recommendation

All in all I will give it big thumbs up. I shall continue to use this product and shall try other products from the same range. I recommend this product if you have oily to combination skin, it works as a savior and also helps in reducing the pore size.

Have you tried this toner or any other product from the Seaweed range of TBS? How were the results? Do write to us in the comments below

Also, which toner do you use for oily to combination skin? Any recommendations, I will surely give it a try.

Plum : Grape Seed and Sea Buck Mask - Review and Price

Don't you love it when you find gifts in your mail? So do I! When I found plum goodies in my mailbox, I was more than just excited because I've wanted to try this brand for a very long time!

Plum Goodness is making a lot of news in the beauty as well as the beauty blogging community, because of the wonderful effectiveness of their products. Plum products are PARABEN, PHTHALATES, SLS, DEA and PABA free, while taking care to fuse the best parts of Science and Nature, giving them the natural components that enhance your beauty, without the harmful effects of these chemicals.

The products and their packaging is also environment friendly (Recyclers, rejoice!), and they do not test their products on animals!

About Product: Once or twice a week, you should treat your face to gentle exfoliation, deep cleansing and detox. And wouldn't it be great if you could also feed some nourishment to your skin while it renews itself? That's precisely the idea behind Plum Grape Seed & Sea Buckthorn Renaissance Face Mask

Ingredients - Aqua (Water), Bentonite, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, FDA Approved Colours, Fragrance, Glyceryl Stearate, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Fruit Oil, Kaolin, Phenoxyethanol, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil

1.   Kaolin & bentonite clays for natural cleansing & exfoliation
2.   Grape seed oil - rich in polyphenols (anti-oxidants), Vitamins D, C, E, flavonoids and essential fatty acids
3.   Sea buckthorn oil – heals skin damage naturally without skin irritation. One of the best natural antioxidants known

Price - 425
Quantity - 75g
Shelf Life - 24 Months

Packaging : The product arrived in a cardboard box, which contained a travel friendly White Squeeze tube, with a tight fitting cap.

Texture : The mask is beige in color, and creamy in texture. It is a clay mask, containing kaolin and bentonite clay.

My Experience :

When I first started using this mask, I expected that the tube would last only for 3-4 uses. But I'm happy that I was wrong, as I've used it four times now, and more than half a tube is left over! Even though the clay makes this a drying mask, it does not feel stretchy, and does not leave my skin dry or patchy. It is a hassle free product, and dries up very quickly and is easy to remove.

The results of the mask are equally impressive. It gives me an instantaneous glow, helps getting rid of those horrible grossy black and white heads, and as it is rich in antioxidants, it helps in maintaining the glow for almost one full week.

If you have oily or pimple prone skin, it will work wonders for you and you can easily use this product twice a week. (With my normal to dry skin, I use it once in 10 days). It also helps get rid of light tanning.

The only downside to the products from this brand is their availability offline. (But hey, when your only complaint is that you want MORE that speaks volumes about the brand itself!). But again, this is not really a problem as it is widely available across most major e-commerce sites like Flipkart, Amazon and Plum.

Rating :            Efficacy & Performance: 4.5/5
                                                   Availability: 4/5
                                  Texture & Packaging: 4.5/5
                                          Value for Money: 4.5/5

Overall Rating - 4.5/5

Final Verdict :

Plum Grape Seed & Sea Buck mask, is a great rejuvenating and soothing mask that leaves your skin glowing. The results are great, with no irritation caused to the skin. As soon as I will finish this tube, I’m going to order another one from the same brand.

Have you tried any kaolin clay masks? How were the results? Also, do share your thoughts about Plum Goodness in the comments below!

April MSM Express Box - Unboxing, Price & Review.

Apologies in advance, as I couldn’t post this earlier. Somehow, this post was in drafts and I totally forgot about it. But hey, it’s better late than never right?

Currently there are many beauty subscription boxes available in the market. These subscription plans are a great way to checkout new brands and products available in the market.

MSM- My Style Mile is also one of such. Their moto is “A lot in A Little”
MSM has 2 subscription plans.

MSM Select Box- Premium Brands
MSM Express Box – Normal drugstore brands.

It was an impulsive decision to go for MSM Express Box and to my surprise; they delivered the box within 3 hours of placing the order. Super impressive delivery. Woohoo!

Box contains- Beauty and Lifestyle products which are carefully curated after looking into your needs.

Express box is Pink/Magenta in colour whereas the Select box is in yellow.

Price – Rs 495/month (Express box)

Unboxing-

It’s a compact box, which is quite sturdy and can be used to store makeup or jewelry. Let’s see what April Express Box contained –

·        Makeover Lipstick
·        Tiens Nail Paint ( Brand- Makeover)
·        Kronokare Mediterrean Citrus Body Lotion. (deluxe size sample)
·        Innisfree Facemask Sheet {I love these sheets)
·        And a small aromatic candle from Naina
·        All Good Scents Lolette Vial
·        Also, there are certain discount vouchers and coupons (pretty impressive)

It is certainly one box worth investing my money in. Still, the cosmetic brand which is included in this box is unknown to me and I couldn’t even find much information about the same online, so I’m quite skeptical about it. Packaging of the lipstick looks quite sturdy and promising though. (Will review about it soon)

I’m a fan of Kronokare and Innisfree products, so for me this box was a catch.

Rating-                Value for money- 4/5
                                         Contents- 4/5
                Packaging and Delivery- 5/5
                            Personalization – 3/5
( They don’t really personalize according to each skin type)

Overall Rating – 4/5

Verdict- It is one of the best subscription boxes/bags out there yet I couldn’t somehow, connect with it the way I did with the Fab Bag. I will give it one more try in the month of July. I hope then it impresses me more and connects with me better.

Have you subscribed to any beauty sample plans? Which one is your favorite? And what are your views about. Write it to us in the comments below.

Until then Stay beautiful!

Pimple Problems : Panic Personified

As you might know, I’ve a normal with no as such big time issues but every once in a while I get that zit/pimple or whatever you call that monster on the face to ruin my mood and sometimes, even my life. Every girl on this planet will agree with me that even a tiny pimple has the ability to give us sleepless nights. They just tend to appear at the most inopportune times.

Pimple means end of the world !!

Around New Years’ time, I was very excited about a party I planned to attend with my girls, right until I spotted a huge monstrous pimple on my face. With just a day to go for the party, it seemed like my life was at an end. After all, it is no big secret that girls night out meant taking more selfies than humanly possible! My first impulse was to take a deep breath and pop it, overcome only thanks to the “Never pop a pimple” lesson that our mothers beat into us when we grow. Needless to say, it was one lesson I had to learn the hard way, several times, in my adolescent years.

Stop Popping Pimples

Popping a pimple might make it less noticeable for a while but it isn’t a permanent solution to the plague called pimples. When you squeeze a pimple, you are actually pushing dead skin, oil and bacteria further into the skin, resulting in redness, swelling and possibly scarring. Instead, let the pimple dry out naturally and it calm down naturally but if you are anything like me, totally impatient and if it is causing much irritation then the best thing to do is to rub an ice cube over it which will help in reduction of inflammation or if you want it to dry out ASAP you can try making a paste of Multani mitti( Fuller’s earth) + 2 drops of lemon + crushed neem and leave it on the zit overnight, Pimple will dry up and it will become easier to cover it with right concealer. And if you are too lucky then you might just vanish with no acne marks that too.

What saved me from embarrassment that night was this miracle paste and my concealer yet this is not a long term solution. At that very moment I decided that my skin needs some good care so that I don’t run in to similar situation again as my best friend’s wedding is around the corner and I just cannot afford to have face full of pimples, but you know when you want something to NOT happen, it certainly does happen (Murphy’s law).  So, I was cautious this time and I decided that I should try out the products which swear by reducing the development of pimples on a clear skin and I landed up investing in Garnier Neem face Wash.
Garnier Neem face Wash

I have always been a fan of Garnier skin care products and this one for sure was no different. Within 3 washes, my face was clear and there was no sign of pimple on it. I will be sharing the detailed review of this product in my next post. But for now I can surely say I’m sticking around with this face wash for a long long time.
After using Garnier Neem Face wash I realized that over all structure of my skin looks improved and it is even smoother than before. It contains Neem and Tea Tree oil; it’s no secret that these 2 active ingredients helps in curbing the pimples.

DIY your own scrub with Garnier Neem Facewash.

Brew some Green-Tea leaves/ tea-bag. Add coin-size amount of facewash in it. You can also add drops of your favorite essential oil. Apply it on damn face just like a regular mask. Leave it for 5 mins and then gently scrub it and wash your face with warm water.

It doesn’t dry out my face and it cleanses it thoroughly. I’m super impressed with product and I’m really happy that Garnier came out with the wonder solution to the painful pimples with innovative face wash like this one. So whenever I get the pimples, I reach out for the simple solution lying on the slab of my washroom in the white squeezy tube.
