Where did January go? It felt as if January lasted just 5 seconds. 2015 certainly started with the bang; Bad Health, apartment moving, best friend’s wedding, work and more stress. Ahh Stress … one thing which has the ability to create mess in your life. If I leave behind the mental agony and emotional/physical discomfort that I have gone through in last month, still I would find plenty of reasons to still stress on. For example my skin and my hair!!

Most of us really do love winters, even do I but it creates havoc for skin and hair. They need that extra protection and care in this dry season. Honestly, I didn’t have time to even look myself in mirror, forget making any special/extra efforts to take care of them.

Skin was still taken care of, thanks to the night routine that I follow of which I would be talking in detail in the upcoming post, but it was my Hair that was constantly giving me nightmares.

And then the Miracle happened – As if Garnier knew that I’m going through Hair-troubles and they sent me my life saviour – Garnier Triple Nutrition Shampoo and conditioner. So let’s find out how effective this hair-care solution is for me?

Major Hair concerns

I have normal to dry hair but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have any major hair problems, due to health issues and extreme winters my hair has suffered a lot. It is lost the sheen and look much drier than it ever was. Dryness leads to hair fall as well, so that was another big concern.

Lately, I have also realized that I have quite some spilt ends as well which makes my hair look drier and dull.

I have been using Garnier Triple Nutrition Range for around 18 days now, in which I have washed my hair 7 times with this range and the After math of using this range is just brilliant. I have regained that shine and the smoothness that I had in it. Hair looks much more manageable and healthier than before. In just single wash shampoo shows its effect on your hair. I normally dilute the shampoo, so most of the time only single wash is enough but when you it on oiled hair, you might have to go for the second wash as well.

I love the conditioner. It is creamy and smooth but not very thick, which is good as it doesn’t weight downs my hair. After just one application, my hair was quite manageable, tangle free and had nice shine to it. You can even use the conditioner on your scalp (Company claims) though I never use the conditioner on scalp.

Shampoo and Conditioner in cute yellow color signature Garnier Fructis packaging. Both Shampoo and conditioner are white in colour. The consistency of Shampoo is pretty much same as that of any shampoo but that of conditioner is quite thick but not as rich as hair masks are.

This Range is conveniently priced at Rs 135/each for 175 ml.

Neither of it makes my hair weight down; on the contrary, I feel my hair looks voluminous and bouncy. Even though the shampoo alone works wonders but I would recommend to use conditioner with every single wash to keep hair more manageable and smooth. Conditioner provides moisture and much required hydration to my dry/brittle hair.

This range is infused with the goodness of three nourishing oils of olive, coconut and almond. The Vitamin E from these oils helps in moisturizing the scalp and to get rid of the dryness.

Fragrance

I love the fragrance of this range, it is the blend of signature Garnier Fructis fragrance and lemon. They lemony smell isn’t too overpower, but it is quite long lasting. Your hair will smell fresh and pretty amazing until the next wash for sure.

Overall, after using this range for more than 2 weeks, I can say that I’m happy that I took this challenge as this decision has come out to be quite useful for my hair. My hair looks shinier, smoother and more manageable.

Pimple Problems : Panic Personified

As you might know, I’ve a normal with no as such big time issues but every once in a while I get that zit/pimple or whatever you call that monster on the face to ruin my mood and sometimes, even my life. Every girl on this planet will agree with me that even a tiny pimple has the ability to give us sleepless nights. They just tend to appear at the most inopportune times.

Pimple means end of the world !!

Around New Years’ time, I was very excited about a party I planned to attend with my girls, right until I spotted a huge monstrous pimple on my face. With just a day to go for the party, it seemed like my life was at an end. After all, it is no big secret that girls night out meant taking more selfies than humanly possible! My first impulse was to take a deep breath and pop it, overcome only thanks to the “Never pop a pimple” lesson that our mothers beat into us when we grow. Needless to say, it was one lesson I had to learn the hard way, several times, in my adolescent years.

Stop Popping Pimples 

Popping a pimple might make it less noticeable for a while but it isn’t a permanent solution to the plague called pimples. When you squeeze a pimple, you are actually pushing dead skin, oil and bacteria further into the skin, resulting in redness, swelling and possibly scarring. Instead, let the pimple dry out naturally and it calm down naturally but if you are anything like me, totally impatient and if it is causing much irritation then the best thing to do is to rub an ice cube over it which will help in reduction of inflammation or if you want it to dry out ASAP you can try making a paste of Multani mitti( Fuller’s earth) + 2 drops of lemon + crushed neem and leave it on the zit overnight, Pimple will dry up and it will become easier to cover it with right concealer. And if you are too lucky then you might just vanish with no acne marks that too.

What saved me from embarrassment that night was this miracle paste and my concealer yet this is not a long term solution. At that very moment I decided that my skin needs some good care so that I don’t run in to similar situation again as my best friend’s wedding is around the corner and I just cannot afford to have face full of pimples, but you know when you want something to NOT happen, it certainly does happen (Murphy’s law).  So, I was cautious this time and I decided that I should try out the products which swear by reducing the development of pimples on a clear skin and I landed up investing in Garnier Neem face Wash.

I have always been a fan of Garnier skin care products and this one for sure was no different. Within 3 washes, my face was clear and there was no sign of pimple on it. I will be sharing the detailed review of this product in my next post. But for now I can surely say I’m sticking around with this face wash for a long long time.

After using Garnier Neem Face wash I realized that over all structure of my skin looks improved and it is even smoother than before. It contains Neem and Tea Tree oil; it’s no secret that these 2 active ingredients helps in curbing the pimples.

DIY your own scrub with Garnier Neem Facewash.

Brew some Green-Tea leaves/ tea-bag. Add coin-size amount of facewash in it. You can also add drops of your favorite essential oil. Apply it on damn face just like a regular mask. Leave it for 5 mins and then gently scrub it and wash your face with warm water.

It doesn’t dry out my face and it cleanses it thoroughly. I’m super impressed with product and I’m really happy that Garnier came out with the wonder solution to the painful pimples with innovative face wash like this one. So whenever I get the pimples, I reach out for the simple solution lying on the slab of my washroom in the white squeezy tube.

Men Grooming Tips, Take Care !!

How are you all doing? Today's post is quite interesting ( at least I feel so). Its a hatke post as its not about ladies or anything related to beauty products of us girls; it is about the men in our life and how carelessly they behave when it comes to their own grooming, hygiene and care.

                                  

Men, generally might be particular about too many things but I've seen them compromising a lot when it comes to their skin, most of the time they even end up ignoring pimples, acne and marks.

So, in this post I brought up to you some simple changes and tips which men should adopt for better skin

Use a Shower Gel instead of a Soap Bar - 

Soap bars have alkaline in them which dries out the skin. They make the rough and harsh. Instead, use shower gel or moisturizing shower get for supple moisturized skin

"Say No To bars" specially on Face 

Facial skin is very different from the skin at other bother body parts. It is much more exposed to pollution and harmful Sun.  Use Face wash for more hygiene and clear skin. Try Garnier Oil Clear face wash; it helps in removing excess oil without drying out the skin

My brother has a very sensitive oily skin and in this humid weather he suffers from breakouts every now and then. He started using The Garnier Men Acnofight Face wash and within 2 days of using it he started to feel the difference; his skin was more clearer and he was complaining quite less for oily irritable skin.

Use SunScreen

UVA-UVB rays are dangerous to the skin. Use a sunscreen or sunblock with a minimum of SPF 25 and protect your skin from harmful effects of UV rays. Use sunscreen in all the seasons and dont step out without it.

EXFOLIATE at least twice a week.
Exfoliating the skin is very important as it removes the dirt and dead skin cells. There are loads of body and face scrubs available in the market, choose wisely and according to your skin type and invest in good quality products.

Invest in Good Shaving Kit 
Choose trusted brands when it comes to shaving razors and creams. Do a patch test to know whether the products actually suit you or not otherwise you can end up having a rash on skin (Eww!!)
Shaving irritates the skin, hence, it is very important that you invest in nice, alcohol - free after shave lotion/gel to soothe your skin.

Keep You Skin Moisturized 
 Keep your skin hydrated. Moisturizer for the face and body should be different as face needs that extra care. Use a hydrating moisturizer to keep the harshness and roughness at bay and it will also improve the quality of your skin and will also leave a lasting impression on anyone.

My View and Review - Garnier Fair Miracle 2-in-1 Fairness Cream

Today I'm reviewing a new fairness cream from Garnier.. This one is making quite some news in the market because of its claim. Well I'm personally not a fan of fairness creams which are mushrooming like anything in the Indian market. I still picked this one because of its claim of keeping  the face clean upto 12 hours, so thought of trying it.

The Claim 

It gives you instant fairness that lasts from morning to evening because it contains Vitamin B3 & Perlite, which is a natural mineral. The talc in it is effective due to its absorption properties. The UV filters are known to protect your skin from skin darkening. This cream gets easily absorbed and gives you fair & clean skin for 12 Hours.

All in all, soft and glowing skin is what the New Garnier Fair Miracle gives to you. You can TOUCH, FEEL & SEE the difference in your skin.

My Verdict/ Experience

These days this handy cream has become staple in my bag as it gives me clean look for the longest have known. It blends easily on skin and it moisturizes pretty well too. It acts well as the base for make-up. The texture of this cream is smooth and creamy. The fragrance is very similar to other fairness creams and is not overpowering. it doesn't provide any instant fairness but keeps the skin clean for quite long.
