Take an #EzeeChallenge - Do the Good Deed!

Today, I saw a very thought provoking video on youtube. I was binge watching interesting videos, when I ran into something called the "Ezee Challenge" #EzeeChallenge

It took me back to an incident that happened a few days ago, when I accidentally locked myself out of my house in the early hours of the morning, without any sweater. I must have been out for maybe a minute, before I managed to get my folks' attention and get back inside. But that one minute was pure HELL! I was shivering so badly that it took several minutes (once I was back inside) to stop.

I was very moved when I saw the ending to that video, when I began to imagine the plight of the thousands of underprivileged kids in my city, who are battling the harsh winters with nothing to protect them or give them warmth. It is indeed a very cruel reality, each of us need to help them. This is a joint effort, we need to inspire others to follow and help! And believe me, every little bit will make a big difference! Every single kid who has a warm cover at night, is a victory in itself!

Please help me draw attention to this cause, and Retweet/Share my tweet

( For every 10 RT/Share, I will donate (to ezeehug) woollens  that would bring not only warmth, but also hope to the many underprivileged children in our City (and eventually, country!). Let's do out bit by sharing/RTing this post. Help the #EzeeHug initiative! For details, visit http://ezeehugs.com/

Nivea Nourishing Body Milk - Review, Price and Buy in India!

Hi Guys,

Winter is at its full swing and I stress enough on having a moisturized skin. I hate dry, flaky skin and my skin majorly is dry in its nature. More than makeup, I love to spend on skin care products. I'm trying a lot of new and old moisturizers this winter. So stay tuned and I'll be reviewing a lot of lotions and moisturizers soon.

Today I’m reviewing Nivea nourishing lotion for very dry skin.

– The formula, with Almond Oil, softens the skin

Our NIVEA® Quality promise: Dermatologist tested. Ingredients carefully selected according to strict quality standards. This body lotion contains no added colorants, ethyl alcohol or animal-derived ingredients.
NIVEA’s exclusive Hydra IQ technology supports skin’s own hydration network to unleash non-stop moisture that lasts 24h+.

Price- Rs 180 for 200ml, Rs 299 for 400ml

Shelf Life - 30 months

Packaging- Comes in a stylish tall bottle. It is opaque and not travel friendly. But the flip-open is quite tight and hence, there are no troubles with leakage as well.

Texture & Fragrance - Lotion is white in colour, its neither too thick nor too runny. It has mild signature Nivea fragrance, It doesn't linger for long.

My Experience.

I have been using this body lotion for 2 seasons now. For my dry skin, it is perfect after bath lotion. It leaves my skin moisturized and glowing. I don't use this particular lotion in warm or hot weather, as it feels too heavy on the skin. Even though my skin is super dry, I don't have to re-apply this lotion for almost 12- 16 hours and even if I forget to do so, my skin doesnt feel flaky at all.

It has a light formula which gets absorbed into the skin very easily. For a body lotion, it does it job really well even in the harsh dry weather.

Nivea nourishing body milk lotion with almond oil is affordable choice which is easily available as well. I would also like to mention that because the fragrance is mild, it makes a wonderful unisex product for skin care. All men in my family uses this particular variant only.

Pros-
  • Creamy and apt consistency.
  • Affordable
  • Easily available
  • Hydra IQ technology helps in keeping skin
  • moisturized for long hours.
  • Skin looks healthy and feels soft.

Cons-

  • Bulky Packaging, not Travel Friendly.
  • Contains Parabens
  • Doesn't have SPF
I truly recommend this. You can buy this product easily on Amazon, Nykaa or flipkart.

Care with yogurt even in Winters !!!

Hey chicklets!!

Whats has been happening?? Its so cold out here in Delhi, but I anyhow love winters and I’m enjoying this weather to the fullest even though my exams are going on. Every season has its pros and con, and with winters comes dry skin and dry scalp, which requires extra care. So here is a wonder ingredient for your winter problems – Yogurt!!!

The good fat in yogurt naturally nourishes, prevents drying during winter and the mild acids bleach tan. Yogurt also balances pH levels on skin & hair and does alot good if applied frequently.

1)      Pure and Simple Yogurt for hair:-  You can simply use yogurt on the hair and scalp few minutes before taking bath. Yogurt is an excellent product for dry hair or y0ou can beat yogurt and then apply on the hair and scalp. Leave for 30-45 minutes and then rinse of with lukewarm water and use mild shampoo.

2)      Yogurt with honey- Yogurt and honey is a perfect for winter care! Beat yogurt and add few drops of honey to it. Apply on the hair and leave for 30-45 minutes. This conditions the hair and stores the moisture therefore preventing the hair from becoming dry. You can also apply the same mixture on your face and leave it for 10-15 mins. It boosts your skin moisture and gives you instant glow.

3)      Body Scrub- To a bowl of yogurt, add a teaspoon of powdered sugar, turmeric and aloe vera gel. Turmeric works like an antiseptic, sugar helps in scrubbing and removing the dead skin cells. Aloe vera soothes skin. Even oatmeal powder can be added to yogurt and used as a scrub.

4)      Body Scrub part 2 :-  You can add 3 tablespoons powdered oatmeat in one bowl of burd and use as a body scrub.

5)      Shiny long hair:- Yogurt when mixed with olive oil makes up an effective hair care recipe.

6)      Yogurt Body Pack: To a mixture of multani mitti/ green clay, add yogurt and rosewater and mix it to thick paste. Apply the yogurt recipe all over the body (specially arms & legs are more visible). The homemade facepack should be massaged on knees and elbows to lighten up the skin and prevent roughness.

7)      Yogurt and Egg – Beat and egg while whipping yogurt and then apply on the hair. The best way to apply this yogurt mask is by parting hair lines an applying on the exposed scalp. This way, you apply the mask properly. Leave it for an hour and then rinse off with cold water and use a mild shampoo.

8)      Yogurt Lotion: Combining yogurt with a teaspoon of the fragrant essential oil and applying everyday
before bath will protect skin damage, dryness, redness and will maintain skin silky and glowing.

9)      Yogurt Body Mask: The natural body mask is prepared by adding grated carrots (carrot juice), saffron, honey and yogurt. The body mask is gently applied on body before bath and taken bath after it is dry. The yogurt body mask makes skin silky soft and glowing.

10)   Yogurt and banana- Mash a banana and add it to the beaten yogurt. Apply this paste on the hair and leave for 30-45 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water and little shampoo. Regular usage reduces hair fall and controls dandruff.

So if you know recipe for skin or hair with this Wonder Ingredient, right it to me in the comments and I’ll add it in this post – with due credit.

Shiny Beautiful Hair in Winters

“I stared at her black hair. It was shiny like the promises in magazines. ”
~Alice Sebold, The Lovely Bones

Who doesn’t want have shiny long hair like princess Rapunzel. Winter is a time when your hair needs special attention. The most exposed part of our body in winters is our hair and it leads to various hair problems like split ends, dry scalp, sheen-less hair, damaged and dandruff.

Here are some Winter Hair care Tips that can guide you about how to take special care for your hair during winter.

-          Shield you hair with a hat, cap or scarf, slightly loose enough to allow scalp circulation,            to protect your hair against the chill wind in winter.

-          Be regular with oiling your hair once or twice a week this winter as it retains the shine of hair and keep the hair-roots strong. Using hot oil can be an effective measure towards protecting your hair in winter. You can try using a natural hot oil solution like jojoba hot oil treatment for your hair and it can excellently re hydrate your dry hair.
Do not wash your hair using hot water as this can damage your hair to a great extent. Try using lukewarm or preferably cool water while washing your hair. Cold water/ tap water will also give your hair extra shine.

-       Avoid shampooing your hair too often. In winter the hair as well as the scalp dry easily and shampooing too frequently can worsen the case. Switch to mild shampoo and ensure no damage. It will keep the scalp clean and dandruff free. And, those who are having dandruff problem can choose a mild anti-dandruff shampoo.

-      Avoid using blow dryers, curling irons and straightening irons as they tend to dry and damage the hair to a great extent. Use such hot items for your hair, as little as possible. If you need to use a hot item use a leave in conditioner before using the item on your hair.

-       Use Hair products that have the word, "Replenish" on it is made to moisturize your hair.

-          Along with conditioning, you can also indulge into spa treatments like hair-spa, head massage and even hair-masks.

-          Try using a dry shampoo if you need to wash out your hair. One dry shampoo you can use is baby powder, simply sprinkle some onto your hair and use a comb to comb it off.

-          Static energy remains very intense during wintertime. If your hair is charged with static, brushing your hair can pose a very big problem. Static causes huge damage even with 'static free' brushes. Rub a dryer softener sheet over the brush, which can greatly detangling your hair.

Now some homemade easy remedies for beautiful shiny hair

-         try honey to add shine to dull hair. Mix 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 pint of water.           Rub  mixture into hair and scalp. Leave on for 20 minutes (cover hair with a shower cap). Rinse hair thoroughly with cool water.

-          Take ½ cup mayonnaise and apply it on the hair from the root to the tip. Cover the head with plastic wrap and wait 15 minutes. Rinse it with water. It will give your hair new shine and will feel soft.

-          Combine 2 Ripe banana, 1 tbsp yogurt, ½ tbsp olive oil, ½ tbsp castor oil and ½ tbsp coconut oil. Apply this conditioner on the hair from the root to the tip and wrap with a hot towel. Keep it for half an hour and wash with lukewarm water. To wash your hair, use a mild shampoo.

-          Take 1 banana and mash it then add 3 to 4 drops of almond oil. Mix it well and message it into the hair. Keep it for 30 minutes and wash with a mild shampoo.

So what are you waiting for now lustrous smooth beautiful hair are on your way this winters !!!

Stay fabulous
