Hello Pretty Ladies!!
Whats happening? Now Dilli ki saardi (winters in Delhi) has
started showing its colours and i just don’t feel like getting out of my bed
and my furry blanket*oh so soft* but this laziness is not meant for me, *sadly*
as I have my exams going on. Nevermind, I still need to party and go out with
friends. I love stilletos/ high heels, they give me confidence and if I pair
them with my lovely skirts then it gives me double confidence as my legs
slimmer and ofcourse you feel taller and Sexy and the same time.
High heels can damage your feet if you are uncomfortable.
First of all you need to practice walking in high heels and secondly be
confident if you wear one.
Buy the right size of the shoes (i.e. stilletos/heels). If
you are uncomfortable in the size that you are wearing then your shoes will be
a waste. And if you buy really high heels that you cannot even carry then even
your shoes are a waste. You know better how long a heel you can carry.
So here are for few
tips to walk in your dream shoes without pain and without any fear:-
1) Start with Kitten Heels - If you’ve
never walked in high heels before, don’t start out learning with 5 inch
stilettos – that’s a recipe for pain and maybe even injury! If you are a new user
then start by small heels or Kitten Heels and then move towards higher heels. You
can always work your way up to your most killer heels.
2) Move with Wedges/chunkier Heels:- next
step is to walk in the heels which do hjave height but also have a thicker
base, just like wedges or chunkier heels. They do the similar job of that of
stilletos and they are a lot easier to wear. Though stilletos add to a glamour
quotient, wedges add to a fun quotient and give you a comfort zone.
3) Limit the obstacles:- If possible try
to limit the number of obstacles in the first high heels you'll be wearing -
for example, a pair of high heels with rounded toes will probably be more
comfortable than pointy-toed shoes, and you can concentrate more on walking
gracefully in high heels if your toes aren't being pinched together. Opt for a
pump, or a sandal with an ankle strap that will add support for your ankles,
and will definitely help in your attempt to walk in high heels.
4) Choose
your shoes carefully:- Not all high heels are created equal. Stand in your
shoes on a hard floor with your knees straight, and see if you can raise
yourself on your toes an inch. If you can't, the heels are too high for you
right now, and you shouldn't wear them. If you try to wear heels this tall,
you'll end up walking with your knees bent forward, and that's a good way to
get very sore, not to mention looking rather daft. You also want there to be
just enough "breathing room" so you can add cushions in the soles
later.
5) Walk heel to toe, not toe to heel.
While it might be tempting to put your whole foot down at once, don’t do it –
it makes your walk look strange when you’re wearing high shoes. Instead, put
your heel down first, followed by your toe. This will give you more balance and
make your stride look more natural.
6) Take small steps. Wearing heels
naturally makes your stride shorter, so you’ll need to take more steps than
usual. Don’t expect to be able to walk as fast as you normally do in high
heels.
7) Step as if you were walking on a straight line.
When you walk with one foot in front of the other, it gives your hips the sway
that models are known for. Pretend you’re walking on a line on the ground, one
foot in front of the other, or practice on an actual straight line at a
basketball court or on a line in the floor.
8) Continue
walking back and forth across the room, turning different directions, and
stopping without wobbling on your high heels. Once you're comfortable with
this, try the same thing on different floor surfaces, and remember to start off
slowly with each one.
9) Practice,
practice, practice:- If you haven't ever worn high heels, or you are
already comfortable in high heels, this sounds silly. But trust me, the first
time you put them on, you'll see what I mean. Wearing high heels is a totally
different walking experience, and if you take it for granted, you'll not only
end up with sore feet, but possibly an injury. And, if you have a bad
experience first time out, you'll be doomed to flats forever.
10) When
wearing high heels on a staircase, always use the rail
if it is available, or at least be close enough to a rail that you can reach it
if you need to. When climbing steps, your entire shoe heel and sole should land
firmly at once on each step.
11) Give
your feet a break. Sit down every twenty minutes or so. If you're in the bathroom,
sit down. Don't take your heels off, this will only allow the pain to worsen.
They swell a bit after you take them off, that makes it harder to continue
after.
No matter how nice your heels
are, don't wear them all the time. Wearing heels too often can lead to chronic
foot and back pain. Heels over 5 inches tall aren't
really meant for walking.
Now that you know how to walk in
heels, have fun in them and flatter yourself with those beautiful Pumps in your
closet.
If you have any questions, be
sure to leave a comment and I’ll try to answer.
Love.
